Gaming Machine Information Launched

Gaming machine players have now been provided with an easy guide to how gaming machines work, as a result of an initiative by the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA).

The GTA today launched a new online presentation of information about gaming machines, achieving a milestone in the process.

GTA’s Chief Executive, Ross Ferrar, noted that the presentation is an important step along an evolutionary path ensuring people are well informed about how gaming machines work.

He said “Gaming machines are designed to entertain, are subject to government approval and are stringently controlled. We are pleased to provide this detailed information which is intended to provide a valuable asset for a variety of audiences.

“In particular, we believe in gaming machine players being well informed. Manufacturers want everyone who chooses to play gaming machines, to understand their characteristics.”

“Machine manufacturers have responded to calls for improved information about gaming machines by producing this online service. It builds on the work done back in July 2000 when we first published our Player Information Booklet. This was further improved last year with the release of the GTA Responsible Gaming Machine Play leaflet, after a long period of consultation with a wide range of people”, he added.

“We recognised that this information is important and that it needed to be available online, so we set about providing it in a meaningful and accessible way”, he concluded.
